maybe its the fact i didn't own a single britney spears or n sync album. or the fact i didn't have cable when i was growing up and i just didn't know what year it was. whatever it was i will always love music from the 50s and 60s the most. the two tapes i did have {besides the free odyssey books on tape from chick fil a} was a very worn down tape {yeah tape.. as in cassette. remember those?!} of the now and then soundtrack and a best of the 50s! they were the soundtrack to my childhood and now that i look back on it i wouldn't switch any arron carter or backstreet boys cd for my oldies ever. here's a few of my favorites. get ready to dance!

turn on stand by me, put on your cat eye glasses, do the jitterbug and have a throwback kind of weekend!

p.s. i've been up since 6am jamming to the best of the 50s&60s! even made an epic playlist. and if you want a CD of my favorites feel free to email me and i'll send you one! its too good not to share!

I'm a big fan too! :) I'm goona listen to this playlist while gettin' ready now! ;)
ReplyDeletelove it love it!
ReplyDeletemy mom played this hits of the 50s&60s tape every morning as I was getting ready for school and she was getting ready for work. And... (embarassment) speaking of tapes we also did Sweating to the Oldies (you know... richard simons) video every night. Love your playlist!
How fun! :). Definitely puts you in a great mood!!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't know about the whole 50's & 60's vibe, but I can say with unequivocal certainty...B. Spears, Nstink, and the backdoor boys...total garbage. Cheers!
ReplyDeleteI love the 50s and 60s definitely my favorite decades. Hope you have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteI have a custom designed dance for Knock Three Times that I have done since I was 5 singing in the hairbrush. I will have to teach it to you one day. What rhymes with Ork? That's me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend, what are your plans?
:) 50's and 60's music is WAY more fun to dance to than anything else (except for maybe swinging to 30's-40's era big band music) I'm a big believer that I was totally born in the wrong decade...
ReplyDeletei am in love with this! i can't tell you how many times i listened (and watched!) Now & Then...the sound track is just perfect and so is your playlist! :) have a beautiful weekend miss!

Such great songs!! I love a bunch of 80s music too! I pretty much like everything besides dirty rap and jazz..classical can be pretty but get my nerves after a while.. like at my grandparent's house they play it every waking hour through their entire house.. and then at night when you think its quiet you hear their Grandfather clock chimes every 15 minutes!
ReplyDeleteOh I love The Beach Boys! I just bought my dad the greatest hits of the 50's for easter and I dont think he has stopped listening to it.
ReplyDeleteoh definitely the best kind of music! you have great taste =]
