last week my friend and i went to a special double feature at the belcourt. TROLL 2 and Best Worst Movie. Troll 2 got rated the number one worst movie, on rotten tomatoes, IMDB, and basically anyone who dared to watch it. its so bad its good. and you can't help but laugh. and 20 years after the movie was released, a documentary was made about it.
alright let me set up the story... in 1990 a group of utah actors signed on to a project led by an italian director who did not speak any english. and the script was written by his wife who did not speak any english. so right there you know its gonna be awesome. {awesome in a wonderfully painful way!} the plot? nothing to crazy. you know, your basic horror film. a city of vegetarian goblins that try to turn a family into plants so that they can eat them.
QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE:
what does the title troll 2 have to with the movie?
absolutely nothing.
who is the hero of the movie?
the dead grandfather with the creepy smile who comes back. "Grandpa! Are you really in Hell?" "No! But I know a trick that a friend of mine who went there taught me!"
scared of blood?
its okay. there is only green goo.
what do the goblins look like?
potato sacks with a mask from party city.
acting skills?
not available.
will i want to eat popcorn after this movie?
hell no. "No more... no more popcorn!"
what city do they live in?
NILBOG. "Nilbog! It's goblin spelled backwards! This is their kingdom!"
is there coffee in NILBOG?
"There's no coffee in Nilbog. It's the devil's drink."
what about eggs or bacon?
"Are you crazy, boy? We're vegetarians here in Nilbog. Didn't you know that? Here's some Nilbog milk. Special milk. High in vitamin content"
ridiculousness.
and the actual documentary is so heart felt yet still extremely hysterical. you kind of fall in love with George Hardy{who plays the dad in Troll 2}. and you learn how much the director believed in this movie. and how he still believes in it. this movie is definitely worth seeing! {even if you haven't seen Troll 2} and it also ended up winning a ton of awards at sundace festivals. check here for screenings in your city!
"They're eating her... and then they're going to eat me... OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD!"
basically you need to see both these movies. you won't regret it!

would you mind giving me a little information? ha i have one question...
ReplyDeleteHOW did you get a PR of 3 on your blog? [did you do link building, or have you had this blog for a long time??]
http://www.allisterbee.blogspot.com
haha. you are so cute!
ReplyDeletePR = page rank. google ranks websites on the internet 0-10 [10 being the absolute best]. You have a PR of 3!! Which is excellent. You could pass that rank along to anyone that you place on your home page. If there is a link to someone else's site, the page rank trickle's down to them.
Like if you were to put my blog button on your home page somewhere, I would probably get a PR of 1 next time Google came a saw my blog.
You could technically charge people for a 'link'. Especially with such a high page rank.
[Sorry, I'm a computer nerd. I work with marketing everyday! hah]
