home is wherever i'm with you.

i don't really have a physical place that i call home. but there are those people in my life that whenever i'm with them i'm home, wherever it may be.
and this song is so perfectly wonderful for that.

Holy moly, me, oh my, you’re the apple of my eye
Girl, I’ve never loved one like you

Man, oh man, you’re my best friend, I scream it to the nothingness
There ain’t nothing that I need

Well, hot & heavy, pumpkin pie, chocolate candy, Jesus Christ
There ain’t nothing please me more than you

I’ll follow you into the park, through the jungle, through the dark
Girl, I’ve never loved one like you

Moats & boats & waterfalls, alley ways & pay phone calls
I’ve been everywhere with you

We laugh until we think we’ll die, barefoot on a summer night
Nothing new is sweeter than with you

And in the sticks we’re running free like it’s only you and me
Geez, you’re something to see.

where is home for you?

  4. This is so sweet, and I totally agree about what it feels like to be at home. I'm from Georgia, so I guess I still think of my parents' houses (mom and stepdad live in the house where I grew up, dad and stepmom live in another 'homey' house in Georgia) as HOME. There's a sense of comfort and love and being taken-care-of that's there, you know? But my community in California is "home," too . . . my dearest friends, my comfy apartment, and all the people I love here.

I think having a flexible since of home is really important and can make us so much happier, cause then we're not dependent on one particular place to feel at home.

I love this post so much!!!

  5. My home is in Georgia, cause I've never lived anywhere else :/ And I just discovered this song on my iTunes! My friend gave me a mix cd that I never really listened to, but I like it, so thanks for that! :D

  7. I love this song! My sister introduced me to it. Home for me is being around my friends and family, but my physical home is San Diego. I may live all the way across the country, but every time I visit, I feel like I'm coming home :)

  8. this is so sweet. and i know exactly what you mean. =] friends and family are what make an actual physical place a "home" and not just a "house" or somewhere to crash and store your junk. heh.
    ^_^ cute!

  12. aww I liked this song already! someone posted it and I downloaded QUICK.
my "home" is in south carolina for now....but you know, it's like the song says...when I went on a trip by myself last year, I realized that I wasn't missing home-home, my room or my bed or whatever. I missed thomas, and being with him. and coming back I felt like, "now I'm home" before he and I even left the airport.

gonna go listen to that right now...

    xoxo

  13. I love this song :)

I don't feel like I have just one home. Home is Birmingham. Home is our apartment, where Mark and I spend the majority of our time. Home is Chattanooga, where my parents are. Home is Griffin, where Mark's parents are. Home is Samford, where I spent 4 of the most formative years of my life. And home will be wherever we end up at the end of this current season of our life :)

  15. I love this. Home is when I'm with my family. We have never lived together since I was 6. All my brothers moved away for work/school. I moved out of the house to college when I was 16. Wherever we all get together, is where home is.

    LOVE!

  19. i love that song! i actually have it on my wedding playlist to play when we're playing lawn games. it's so true - home is where my fiance is, home is also where my closest friends are. unfortunately they're all spread apart. but the good news is i get to have little homes all over the country.
