let's get one thing straight. i love food. cooking it, baking it, eating it! {i watch food network to unwind after a stressful day!}

while i am a proud VEGETARIAN {i have some major issues with the meat industry and how they mass produce poor little animals} there is one thing i've always thought i could never do. and thats to eat VEGAN. let's be honest, foods made with eggs&milk, i.e. MUFFINS, cheesecake, SCONES, cookies, every baked good out there {heck i consider the cheese on my salad dessert} are the world's BEST FOOD. and for the other 25% left in my diet there is usually cheese melted on top of that. needless to say i'm a foodie. and whilst i love my apples and CUCUMBERS and grapefruit and strawberries {all fruit!}, i love my muffins. so for my I've NEVER.. and now I HAVE this week i thought i would really challenge myself and {drum roll} GO VEGAN FOR A WEEK!!
so for my week eating like Littlefoot {why yes i think i did just make a land before time reference} here are the rules:
-no animals
-no dairy
-no muffins
-no hot chocolate made with milk
-no cheese on my salad
{goodbye most decadent homemade snickerdoodle cookies. see you in a week}
BUT all the things i can eat!!
-FRUIT{!!!!!} and don't worry peanut butter is a-okay. so apples and PB can still be eaten!!
-VEGETABLES galore.
-beans, peas, and TOFU!
-rice and PASTA {but no parmesan cheese for that pasta}
{hello equally delicious but SUPERIORLY healthy peanut butter and apples!}
BASICALLY if you don't hear from me in a week then call 911 because i've died from lack of delicious dairy laden food. all in all this shall be a very interesting food week indeed {i've almost deleted this post and gone to bake a cake oh, um, just about a hundred times}
{i think, i might have just gotten myself into a long painful, GASP, healthy week}

oh my! good luck, i don't think i could ever EVER be a vegan. milk is a serious staple in all of my meals. i think i was a cow in a past life.
ReplyDeletei thought of you when i saw the paul & joe watch! isn't it insanely perfect? i might actually be able to get it too, because my mom told me that for graduation they were getting me a special piece of jewelry and that i had to find the perfect one; this is obviously the perfect one.
i'm vegetarian now, but i used to be vegan and it honetsly wasn't that bad! the only reason i stopped was because i was in greece and wanted to eat feta and gelato... but there are so many amazing recipes for vegan baked goods now and tons of great substitutes. our chocolate cupcake at cupcake (where i work) is actually vegan, just because it was the tastiest recipe, not for health reasons at all! good luck though, i know you can do it! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAre you doing this with Naomi from the gluttonous vegan? She has some amazing Vegan recipes on her blog! Good luck! x
ReplyDeletegood luck girl! It will be a challenge, but fun i think too!

Oh my gosh good luck! I have a friend who's vegan and she makes it looks easy - but then again she's been at it awhile!
ReplyDeletethere are loads of vegan blogs out there with FAB home baked goods. I'm not vegan, but I love a lot of the food!
ReplyDeleteLoved your post! I rarely eat meat. Well said. Poor animals!.
ReplyDeleteWish you good luck! Note that beans have many proteins almost equal to meat.
