DAY 1:

"you got this chels, look at all the fresh vegetables."
"uh, yeah. um, this will be fun.."
{conversation with myself due to the lack of my daily scone}
DAY 2:
"VEGAN for a week?! PSH, try vegan for a month"
DAY 3:
trip to the grocery store.
"ALL I WANT IS DOVE CHOCOLATE!!"
"really?" grocey store worker.
"no. just show me where the celery is."
{my favorite new on the go lunch- almonds and PAPAYA&STRAWBERRY smoothie.}

DAY 4:
after a minor breakdown at the grocery store... i was back on track with a positive outlook on my last 4 days after loading up on some delicious vegan friendly food! i put down the chocolate cake and picked up the hummus.
DAY 5:
PB&APPLES! HUMMUS & PITA CHIPS! cinnamon life! RICE & VEGGIES! SOY LATTES! delicious nutty bread! CARROT STICKS! 3 cheers for all this delicious food!
DAY 6:
i may or may not have dreamt about cheese. all of it. any of it. heck, at this point i would have taken a slice of kraft's american cheese.
DAY 7:
in the end, i really did feel so refreshed every morning. you know none of that morning after a tub of ice cream or too much cheese on the crackers feeling. and while maybe it'll be a while before i go a whole week as a vegan, but there will definitely be some non-dairy days that will pop up frequently in my life!
i can honestly say i went a whole WEEK without cheating! {i was so close too! i literally heard cheesecake calling my name.} so OFFICIALLY i've never been VEGAN, and now i have!
{i love my oranges. and i think i broke the world record for how many i ate this week!}

HURRAH! a triumph! you must be so proud of yourself! your salad and smoothie look amazing too :)

ReplyDeleteGood for you dear! I am such a carnivore and it's taking a toll on my health. super high cholesterol! I should try what you just did. the question is when.
ReplyDeleteWow! Good for you!
ReplyDeleteAfter a couple weeks of near-veganism, I just made some fish for dinner, and I remembered why I'm NOT one. You're inspiring me to rethink it, though!
That is fantastic, I have been eating more vegan foods and I love them :)
ReplyDeleteI was vegan for about a year but college killed it... I'm going back to it slowly though, or at least trying to rid of the dairy, I just feel so much better without dairy!
ReplyDeleteyay! congratulations! you're definitely giving me hope. but first i gotta try going vegetarian...hmm...life without sushi. maybe a pescatarian? maybe?

Haha...your grocery store dialogue about chocolate and celery cracked me up!
ReplyDeletewow, good for you! the cheese will always be my downfall though... any diet change i ever try to make will have to include cheese - "vegan & cheese" or "low-fat diet... and cheese" cheese is always the exception :)

ReplyDeleteJust stumbled across your blog! Impressed with your vegan week - I've been vegetarian for years but just can't bring myself to give up cheese...
ReplyDeleteHa ha!
ReplyDeleteGirl, I love your honesty.
I was vegan for a few months after reading Skinny Bitch and not wanting to eat sliced pig or anything, but I'm not at all now. Not vegetarian. Just happy and healthy and good :)
