last night something wonderful happened.
i was given a simply wonderful gift.
MY VERY FIRST RECORD PLAYER!
and not only is it a record player, but its quite possibly the best most greatest record player {i mean i might be a tad biased... but for real} not only does it have two giant speakers but it also has a handle and packs up real nice. basically its the new ipod. {don't worry if you see me thumping and grooving my way down the street with this bad boy over my head. lloyd dobler who?} and its pre loved. many a tunes have been played from this little gem. and i love that.
thank you forever jared!
the record worthy of being the first played?
well the beach boys of course!
and the first song?
of course.
i may not always love you.
but long as there are stars above you
you never need to doubt it
i'll make you so sure about it
God only knows what i'd be without you
i predict many nights falling alseep to the beach boys, dancing around to the sly&the family stone, baking to the ronettes, and getting ready for the day to elvis. now i just need a pink ladies jacket to complete my love for the 50s.
i've got some vinyl shopping to do!
right after i tear myself away from the beach boys...

how lucky are you!!! this rocks. i'm a tad jealous... only in a nice way though.
ReplyDeleteGod Only Knows was one of the songs we played as we were walking out of our wedding ceremony :) The other one was Run by Ben Kweller

So, saw the tweet about your car and the flooding and the ruined things. I totally get how devastating that could be - its the main reason I had my parents bring me all my things at one point. I hope with school/finals being almost over things get better.

Oh I love, love, love this Chelsea! I adore the Beach Boys (especially God Only Knows!), and listening to records on our old record player. Most of ours are from the 70s but still... nostalgia's nostalgia! Enjoy!
